I had this dress for like 2 years now that I never wore. I was feeling a bit cool and feisty at the same time so I decided to wear it last Sunday. I didn’t even realize that it’s color is what’s going to be big for 2015.

According to Pantone Color Institute, the organization that designates color of the year since 2000, the charismatic and highly varietal shade of Marsala is the color for 2015. And I gotta say, I’m glad they chose that fortified wine color.

Red has always been one of my favorite hues. It’s always been a fashion staple in my wardrobe. Probably because I was raised in a “Chinese” environment as my Mom is half Chinese.  I was brought up believing that the color red is a powerful shade, something that shouts victory in the most sophisticated and elegant way. My Mom instilled in me that if I want to win something or in dire need of luck, I should wear something red. I know it’s a kind of silly belief but there’s nothing wrong with a little superstition in life so I became a believer too. Somehow.

Every time I want to feel happy or if I am attending an important meeting such as an interview, I always remember to wear something red. It doesn’t mean my whole outfit has to be red, but it can be my bag, my shoes or even my underwear. And it also doesn’t mean it has to be screaming Russian red, but a Rose shade or wine colored like Marsala will do.

What I love about Marsala is that it’s very earthly but romantic at the same time. It’s both tame yet strong shade of red. It has a very cool feel especially when you look at it but also has a feisty impression when needed. Kind of like Desire, the inspiration of my blog.

P.S. I’m back you guys! My US trip was amazeballs, it made going home really hard. Anyway, I’m not doing any Valentine special this year. I’m actually thinking of writing something or rather sharing something to you. 😉 Hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s! 😀
